Here are the steps involved to lace wig ventilating. This technique will produce widow's peak hairlines, extreme hairlines, mustaches, beards and sideburns.

This technique can be used with my Axel Widow's Peak Wig Tutorial parts 1 and 2:

Yes, the wig is an Arda Hiperlon fiber lace front. I've done a lot of work with synth hair before for dreadlocks but not for natural style wigs.

Thanks for creating this easy to undersand resource, Ninja-Chi! I'm about to start work on a long (~29 in) lace front wig that I plan to add some ventilated strands to to extend the sideburn area of the hairline. Would my loose hair need to be double the length of the wig's current length (~58 in) in order for this method to work for me? I would like the length to be somewhat uniform.

Yes, that's correct. Ventilating is basically tying the strands of hair into a knot, which automatically halves the length of each strand (in this case from 58" to 29").

Is the wig hair synthetic? If so, be careful about not stretching the strands - they may kink and get a crimped texture.

Oh bless your soul. I thought I was going to have a really tough time doing wigwork for OOT Ganondorf but this not only helps great amounts, but it's nearly exactly like crocheting (sans pulling the hair through the loop) and oh my god that's going to make things go so much quicker. Thank you for making such a clear and concise tutorial set!

Where do you buy the hair from to make the wigs?
Reply
:iconninja-chi:
I buy extra wigs and cut off their hair. That way I don't have to guess with matching colors.

Well that's a good idea
