Why Do You Tremble?

*YAOI WARNING!*

I love VaatiXLink a little too much. XD For this drawing I decided to go mystical AU instead of following the traditional Zelda universe canonical facts.

Here's the story behind my drawing (remember, this is AU!): Link is not a hero but a young woodcutter. One day, after collecting wood in the forest, he loses his way. He wanders for a while but is eventually drawn to an enchanted pond deep in the woods. Link sees someone bathing in the limpid pond; a beautiful being he's never seen before but suspects is a Minish, mystical inhabitants of this area - he's mesmerized. Suddenly, the being, Vaati, notices Link admiring him and swims to the bank. Fear grips Link's heart - should he flee? No, something is enticing him to stay and he even inches closer to the bank and Vaati's face. The other drifts up to the shore, his eyes seductively peering deep into the young man's. "Why do you tremble so?" he whispers before seducing him. Passionate, enchanted yaoi love in the forest makes me smile. XD

I got inspiration from H. J. Ford's works depicting waterside seduction, usually between a mystical being and a human (the being the aggressor in the situation). I know Minish are small in the Zelda universe, but I wanted to make them a race similar to elves in Tolkien's stories. I show Vaati in his reborn form because it's my favorite.

The water reflection was fun to make. I'm happy with it. :3

This file was huge for some reason. I had to combine layers to keep the size down. *_*

I colored most of this while listening to manwithoutabody reading "My Inner Life" on youtube. Hoo boy! XD
