Into the Fields of Elysian by Ninja-Chi Into the Fields of Elysian by Ninja-Chi
*PERSONA 3 SPOILERS!*

More Persona 3 stuff! I have this obsession with Ryoji, and RyojiXMinato is one of my top couple shippings. I know, this scene didn’t happen in the game, but I wish it had.

This takes place immediately after the defeat of Nyx Avatar, aka my dear Ryoji. However, instead of Nyx Avatar rising into the air to usher Nyx to Earth, I wanted to show a subdued interaction between Minato and Ryoji while confronting the impending death of the latter (his human body, at least). For Minato to kill, in essence, a part of himself, would leave a horrible emptiness (at least in my mind XD). As you can see, Ryoji’s body is in a state of transformation from Nyx Avatar to his human form, explaining the presense of his wings, claws, and decomposed skin, which are all floating away as he's dying.

Oh dear, it may look like Minato shot Ryoji with the "gun" near his feet to someone who hasn't played the game yet.

The Elysian Fields was a place of perfect happiness in the ancient Greek afterlife. Since this game has so many ancient Greek nuances, I wanted to continue the trend with the title.

The shoujo-ness! The styles in P3 are very reminiscent of the 1970s, which was the heyday of shoujo manga. I wanted this mini comic to have that dramatic feel, and I think I succeeded.

The comic reads from right to left. For the top picture, I used my regular coloring style; the bottom one utilizes a paint technique complete with a “textured” background. I’ll be placing the individual drawings on separately.

Pencil finished in CS2 with Wacom.
